We spend around 220 hours a month devoted to work. Research says that most believers spend about 4 hours each month involved in church. Considering how much of our lives is invested in our careers, maybe we should evaluate what ministry is, where it takes place, and what the Bible says about ministers.

I serve as the marketing director for SourceCorp Professional Services. Currently, we are in the process of transitioning from “good to great” and in the process of applying for the Malcolm Baldrige Award. I will be adding some very interesting and faith-building real-life stories from our experiences in the days ahead.

Since 1982, I have served in executive management positions directing company marketing and communication’s functions within small to large companies. I have worked as an employee, principal, and consultant and have helped companies across North America develop biblical vision, mission, goals, objectives and a system’s approach to marketing strategies. I have worked with businesses including American Medical International, Central Power & Light, New Orleans Public Service, YZ Industries, Burr-Brown, Northstar Industries, Motorola, Intelligent Instrumentation, GC International, and FT Capitol Southwest, to name a few. More importantly, I have discovered and helped integrate workplace ministry by focusing first on senior leadership, developing long-term relationships built on mutual trust and accountability and was then allowed to disciple these leaders in a way that resulted in true life transformation. Through God’s grace, some of these leaders then began to change their own businesses because they themselves were changed. It’s all about biblical discipleship according to the Master’s Plan. It is slow, intentional, and committed. It has often times been painful for both me and those on the way. It is not based on some ethereal ivory tower academic integration of faith into business, but a wholesale understanding and application that everything we have and do is to bring God glory – including our responsibility in business.  It is living faith – real-time discipleship conceived and nurtured to maturity by those called and appointed of God to live daily in the trenches of marketplace ministry. Obviously, the last chapter has not been written – I am still being groomed, changed, and learning how to be a light in a place where the vast majority live their faith on Sunday but abandon Christ entirely on Monday. What I am learning, I will provide here on this site for your encouragement and use.

I have developed a biblical discipleship approach accompanied by 17 books, written hundreds of articles, and am just recognizing that God has always used me as a catalyst to help business leaders come out of the closet and into the boardroom with their faith. I have served the Body of Christ in just about every facet of ministry including worship, youth, discipleship, teaching, publishing, internet ministry, conference speaker, elder, and church planter. I graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelors Degree in Advertising. I have been married to my college sweetheart Suzie for 25 years. We have three children: Katheryn, Hannah, and Nathaniel. We have chosen to live a simple faith unencumbered by institutional church practices. We launched an organic church in the Spring of 2008 and I cannot imagine returning to organized religion ever again. We live in Weatherford, Texas and I enjoy my Bible study and prayer times each morning with Suz, writing, photography, running and spending time with family and friends.
